The geographic approach sounds interesting. It wouldn't work in my case because the action is mostly confined to one city with only occasional excursions. But then, I"m not juggling an entire dozen POVs! If I can make the five work for this one book, I'll count that as having learned my lesson. Future books in the series are planned to follow only a subset of existing protagonists. Well, until I get to the revolution, that is. I may have to take an entirely different approach for that. (This is a running joke. When I get asked how long the series is, I say, "Seven or eight books or however long it takes to get to the revolution.")
