I can't help but wonder why someone would have decorated with weasel pelts, recognizing that we don't have a way of finding out. They sure look like the wearer had a sense of humor, based on my cultural references (which are unlikely to be theirs).

Hm. In European folklore, weasels were thought to be strong fertility magic. My guess would be that they have some symbolic significance.
