2010 In Review
The popular "review of the year" format this year seems to be links to key posts for each month (rather than last year's favorite which was the first sentence of the first post for each month). So let's see what I come up with.
January: The LaForge Tea Party I'm part of an informal group of folks who like to have tea parties (not the political kind), often with historic themes. My contribution was inspired by the 1870s date of the tea service I was using.
February: Computer Housekeeping It was hard to pick one particular post, but the entire month of February seems to have revolved around computer issues: getting software installed, dealing with the death of my Time Capsule, the MacWorld Expo, and designing my own comprehensive financial database.
March: Post-Crown Update Possibly a more amusing event in March was the drowning and resuscitation of my iPhone, but this item serves as a nice, detailed description of the SCA side of my life.
April: Several Truths Observed on the Occasion of Moving the Art Supplies A very iconic post on my ongoing "life cleaning" process.
May: Live-Blogging Kalamazoo One not-entirely-random post from the annual Kalamazoo series.
June: Deep Sigh The next-to-last straw in my crime-victim series.
July: West-An TIr War Cooking The only event that may come to rival the A&S Tournament in my mind: medieval cooks play-date at the West-An Tir War.
August: Secrets of the Silk Road I had an enormous amount of fun turning my sketchbook of this museum exhibit into a series of analytical web pages.
September: So How Tall was St. Louis? And Who was Wearing His Shirt? A vast amount of September was still being taken up by the Silk Road notebooks, but I took a short break to do some major data-geeking over relative proportions of various medieval tunics and what they can tell us about both style and the wearers of the garments.
October: A Jam-packed Life October was full of a lot of varied accomplishments. This entry is typical and is the one immediately previous to when things fell apart.
November: Why Can't I Have Nice Things? In this month, my car was stolen and recovered and I decided to sell my house and move out of Oakland. 'Nuff said.
December: Name Geeking: Because You Asked An annoying random conversation finally pushed me into starting to post occasional baby-name blog topics. As usual, anything worth doing is worth doing to excess.
