I've been enjoying these posts very much, if silently, and I wanted to slip in and mention that :) The Little Princess is one of my comfort reads. I picked up the book the other day intended to just catch up to the posts and then read along, but I, uh, didn't quite stop.

On timelines, you mentioned Chapter talking about "the next few years". Is that the very beginning? My book has "the next ten years" there - a difference in the versions? (I know we have different versions because my Lottie's surname is Legh.) Of course, ten years rather than a few would not help the timeline confusion or static secondary characters in any way!
