Circular data?
Ok, this is just freaky. I was looking up the dates of Saint Bernulf of Utrecht for my research open house writing project. A Google search led me to the Wikipedia entry on him. And what should be there in the links at the bottom of the entry but a link to my article on St. Louis's tunic (which mentions other surviving linen garments of similar era, including Bernulf's alb).
ETA: I should note that part of what makes this experience so circular is that the reason I was looking up Bernulf's dates was because I was writing up a description of a costume project that included his alb as one of the sources.
