Since klwilliams tagged me on this (albeit with a typo) ...

Here are the 5 most effective things to bribe me with (tailored for specific occasions):

1. To bribe me to teach something ... just ask nicely. (If substantial travel is involved, larger bribes may be necessary.)

2. To bribe me to research something ... offer me a juicy, chewy question.

General all-purpose bribes:

3. Dancing girls (old joke)
4. Offer to wash my dishes
5. Take an interest in discovering who I am.

I won't tag anyone else specifically, but feel free to play.

1. good quality dark chocolate
2. actually knowing that my interests and/or expertise lie in an area where you want me to teach or write something or whatever
3. free coffee [grin]
4. the possibility of introducing me to an elder in my profession whom I have admired for years but had no access to
5. did I mention chocolate? (yes, okay, I"m easy - but it better be GOOD chocolate, I can't be had for the cheap and nasty stuff)

[innocent flutter of eyelashes] and your area is...? (I'll make SURE I get there, somehow...)

Berkeley -- at least, that's where the Scharfenberger factory is. I go right by it on my way to work. *deep sniff*

I didn't even know there was a Scharfenberger chocolate factory in Berkeley. I must get out more.
