Lesbian Historic Motif Project: Reader Poll

I have entries lined up for this coming week, and since the current 3/week schedule looks like I can stay ahead of the game a bit more, I thought I'd tackle a book or two next, rather than the journal/collection articles. I'll probably be doing books the way I handled Hotchkiss's Clothes Make the Man -- by blogging chapters individually unless the relevant material in several is scanty enough to combine. So I expect that I'd be doing no more than a book a week and likely more than one week per book.

So here are my current candidates to start working on. Since I intend to cover them all eventually, I'm happy to prioritize by reader preference.

[Poll #1978254]

Choosing was hard, but I selected a few of the early modern books and the two about the lieutenant nun (they are the same woman, right?) figuring that they would be interesting to compare.

I didn't select the Ann Lister books but on reflection "no priest but love" is intriguing and I want to know more, so maybe add my vote there too?

Yes, both the books on "lieutenant nun" are about the same woman -- one is an edition of her (probably heavily fictionalized and ghost-written) memoirs, the other is a study of her place in popular culture, both in her own time and more recent media.

Both Lister books cover the same material -- one is a narrower selection of the diaries.
