Just curious

There's a meme going around to the effect of "comment with something you think I should do or try to do in 2008". In my brain, this combined with my idea of identifying half a dozen projects from my to-do list to focus on in 2008, so here's an idea:

Without knowing what, exactly, is already included in those 80+ items on my to-do spreadsheet, what would you be interested in seeing on my 2008 "focussed to-do list". Keep in mind that this is my "creative projects" list (not the house to-do list) and includes everything from physical crafts to research projects to publications. No promises on what actually ends up on it!

Record some of your period music in some format. Doesn't have to be professional quality - filk-around-the-fire-with-a-tape-deck quality is fine.

:)

Interesting -- I don't really have much among the music I've written that I'd call "period", though. A couple of instrumentals. A few lyrics (although not the tunes that go with them).

There's a couple of GOA scrolls you volunteered for a while back ...

Yeah, but that doesn't quite fit with the whole "me" thing.

The whole "you" thing doesn't seem to be a prevailing theme in the suggestions so far. Right now it's looking like tangible products of particular personal interest are three for three. I'm not sure how much selflessness you expected - if it doesn't touch me somehow, how would I know to suggest it?

Further, if there were nothing in it for you, why did you volunteer in the first place?

Eh. They've waited this long; they'll wait longer. It wouldn't be an issue if the scribal establishment didn't keep reorganizing and resetting the status on everything to "I don't care whether I ever get this."

Anything that results in more Welsh stuff being published. (Want to write an article for the KW proceedings?)

Actually, something which may not be on your big list but which may be easy for you to do would be to write up something about the evolution of the language, e.g. when is the Old Welsh period, when is the Medieval Welsh period, when the Modern Welsh period, what are the spellings for 'son' and 'daughter' which are found in those periods.

Actually, this article is about 90% written -- it's waiting for me to run down data on a few time-windows that aren't covered yet.
