I'm really happy with my Yaris, but I'm not sure that the cargo space (with the back seat down) is fully adequate for you. If it's not, I'd suggest moving up to the Matrix. Since you've been talking about winter travel, the latter in the 4 wheel drive version might be an excellent choice.
