Haven't fulfilled the promise to do something fun and creative this weekend.

I've lined up someone from the flooring shop to come do measurements and estimates on Thursday on my lunch hour and they say it should be no problem to get the work done before the end of the month. It looks like I'll be getting off fairly cheaply on the wood laminate part of the flooring -- the cheap and expensive versions looked pretty much the same to me (and the fact that the showroom used the "cheap" laminate on its own floor says a lot for the wearability). On the question of expanding the tiled area in front of the woodburning stove, it looks like it makes more sense to pull out the existing tile and simply re-do it in the shape I want, rather than trying to add on an additional strip. So I'm thinking of just doing a square area in the corner where the stove sits, and skipping the "apron" in front of the sliding glass door. I'm also leaning towards slate rather than ceramic tile (which is actually cheaper, as it turns out). None of this is actually cheap, mind you. Hmm. It suddenly occurs to me that I'll have to figure out how to move the stove temporarily.

Picked up some interesting linen at the fabric store for a blouse. Finally got the mud brushed off the tent from back in March and got the canvas stored away again (as well as patching the hole I put in the roof back before the first time I even used it). Now I think I'm going to start moving the fabric storage boxes into the spare bedroom to get ready for the floor work. Oops, that's back to domestic chores again. Um ... mow the lawn ... nope, still domestic. Hey, I picked the first three ripe raspberries of the season. That should count for something.
