SCA Summer Camp
Jul. 20th, 2006 11:04 pmThat’s the image I always have of the West Kingdom’s summer Arts & Sciences Tournament – hanging out making craft projects. I’ve pulled together all the materials for my Llangors embroidery class, including an addition to the handout with a lot of technique diagrams. I figure I’ll be updating and revising my web article on it sometime soon. No idea when I’m likely to be doing a major project with this embroidery style, though. Getting to my stash of scrap linen was amusing. The container was, of course, in the middle of a stack in the far corner of the spare bedroom, which involved climbing over the bed (which itself is piled high with all sorts of awkward objects). Wah!
I discovered a new restaurant in my neighborhood – the Townhouse. Or rather, I discovered that a restaurant that has been in my neighborhood for decades is not the uninviting hole-in-the-wall bar that it looks like from the façade. The boss took my department there for a “nice work for the last half year” lunch on Wednesday. Nice food; a little pricey. It’s in very easy walking distance, so it’s worth keeping in mind.
