I think today I'm just going to go ahead and clear out the living room for the duration of the rest of the work. This means putting the tv and desktop out of commission and stowing them in the spare bedroom, moving the recliner and other small furniture upstairs, and seeing if it's at all possible to do something with the couches. The heater repair guys finally showed up last night at 6:30 -- 4 hours after the end of the "window" I'd been given. I had, in fact, long since given up on them and identified a different company to call this morning. So now I have a new thermostat and a warm upstairs. It's funny how home-owning slips into a couple hundred here a couple hundred there. So besides the furniture moving, there's the woodstove cleaning/blacking, and maybe start the write-up for my biostatistics term paper. Oh, and take it easy and get lots of rest because I'm still sick. (It has moved out of my sinuses and into my lungs.)

Amazingly enough, although the couches are to large to go out any of the doors, they aren't too large to be dragged up the stairs (around a hairpin bend). So they're piled in the dining room until the floor is done. So, while I haven't finished clearing the decks, the problem is now reduced to a very managable level. Otherwise, I've just been sitting around feeling miserable and sneezing a lot. Tomorrow I'll have to tackle the stove, no matter how I feel. In the mean time, maybe I can get in another 12 hours of sleep like last night (the surest sign that I'm sick!).
