Step by step

A few more steps accomplished: the dining room chairs are assembled, the woodstove door has its gasket, the kitchen is pretty thoroughly organized for the first time in 6 months. Since it turns out that the extended-family dinner I'll be hosting on Boxing Day has expanded to 14 people, I went ahead and picked up the gateleg utility table that I had my eye on for a sewing table. With that supplementing the dining room table, and a couple chairs borrowed from the downstairs neighbor, I should manage nicely. Now I just need to finalize my grocery shopping list. The contractor has gotten about halfway through removing the debris from the backyard, so I don't have to phone and nag him after all. And I spent my lunch hour examining the porch of the upstairs front apartment looking for possible sources of the leak into the downstairs front kitchen. I have some possible clues, but nothing definite yet. Step by step.
