Allergies are hell
Sep. 10th, 2007 11:05 pmSomething's been setting off my sinuses for the last week or so -- possibly the distant fires that are sending their smoke this way, but maybe just some sort of summer pollen. Today my nose decided to give me the full whammy and I went off rummaging for the Claritin. I don't suppose I'm allowed to call in sick for allergies? Nah, didn't think so.
One of the items dislodged from the guest bedroom closet is a rocking chair with a caned seat that needs recaning, so I dragged it off to The Caning Shop in north Berkeley, but found -- alas -- that it's closed on Mondays. This means that I'm going to end up driving to work for a second day this week. What with one errand and another, I've missed about half my lunchtime bike rides in the last couple weeks. Grrr. (Why is it that "grr" looks mis-spelled while "grrr" looks right?) The computer issue is also messing up some of my advance organization for the research open house on Wednesday, but in the end all I need for the research seminars are some rough outline notes and some examples to pass around, so that's no big deal.
