5 Random Things

shalmestere and hudebnik are winging their way back east as I type. It was lovely having them here for the last two weeks, despite the pall cast by Friday's burglary. (Note for ppl not on the flist: there was a more detailed post about this but it's locked.)
2. A&S was lovely -- even the heat was part of the loveliness. My class (Birka-style wire braiding) was well attended and I took several intriguing classes. I may post pix of my glass core-formed vessels -- while still on the form, since the visible cracks suggest they aren't going to survive the core-removal process. The teacher assured us that this is entirely par for the course.
3. Yes, my car was still there this morning (see sub-item under #1) and now has reprogrammed locks.
4. I'm amused that of all the dishes I served in the Anthimus-inspired dinner at A&S, I got the most raves for the root vegetables sauteed with bacon. I guess bacon really does make everything better.
5. Local recommendations for reliable burglar alarm companies will be entertained. I did some initial research after the last burglary, but input is always nice.
