They say there was snow down to the 500 ft level -- I scanned the Berkeley hills on my way out to the parking lot but the clouds were too low to see anything. Down at the 15-ft-above-sea-level point where I live we got hail and more hail. (Sorry about the quality -- they're cell phone photos.) The Youngest Brother says there was plenty of snow coming down when he came over the pass on 17 but it wasn't sticking on the road, thank goodness, or he'd have had to go the long way around through Gilroy. You really don't want to be on 17 at rush hour with crazy commuters driving on even a dusting of snow. His plane to England takes off at a rational hour of the morning, thank goodness.
