Getting my act together for WAT War
Jun. 26th, 2010 09:19 pmSo the primary reason I'm going off to the West-An Tir War this year is the promise of an entire long weekend of Medieval Cooks' Playdate. Thus it behooves me to do a bit of advance planning, since the current version of my standard camp kitchen isn't quite as exhaustively stocked as some past versions have been. My current plan is to work from a different cookbook each day and take the chance to do some dishes that don't work as well for advance cooking. (The various fritters I did for Mists Coronet are the sort of thing I have in mind -- stuff that is at its best when you accost passers by to taste it.)
I'm currently looking at working from Anthimus (although I'm not sure I can get a whole day's worth of fun out of it, since relatively few of the dishes are complex), Sent Sovi, and either Forme of Curye or Two 15th c. Cookbooks.
