You read like I did in school. Start at one end of the library and read through to the other.
The only reason I recall the author's names is because of their locations on the shelves. Alcott, Altsheller, Asimov, Burroughs and so on! I loved living across the street and down the alley from the library, and made it to the W's pretty quickly!
