What I've been doing
Aug. 26th, 2012 06:48 pmYeah, yeah, I'd pledged to write some contentful posts on a more regular basis. Never mind that.
As of about an hour ago, I've finished all the edits of Daughter of Mystery that fall under the rubric of "Rev 2". What this means is that I'm ready to set it out to the next round of test-readers for "big picture" feedback and after that to start of the actual submission process. Nerve-wracking and glorious at the same time.
I have a short mental list of people who have previously expressed an interest in being test-readers for this round. I'm not looking for detailed edits/commentary this time, just a reality-check from a variety of people on whether you find it a "fun read" and whether there are any egregious speedbumps in the story that I can't see from being too close. (I don't expect every reader to love or agree with every bit of it. But a variety of opinions are good.) So if you think you might not already be on my list, drop me a private message to inquire. I'm hoping for a turnaround time of no more than a month, so keep that in mind if you want to volunteer.
Oh, and I'm getting way ahead of myself because I have an idea for an opening scene for Book 3. But what I really need to be working on is a nice assortment of cover letters and plot summaries for the next stage.
