I'd meant to drop by the U.C. Berkeley Library after work today and download an e-book that I hadn't realized had to be accessed through a university computer. But I didn't check the open hours in advance and discovered they'd all closed at 5pm. So since I had some time to kill to avoid driving home in rush hour, I wandered down Telegraph Avenue to Moe's Books and checked out the Gender/Sexuality/Etc. section, which provided the following offerings:

Krimmer, Elisabeth. 2004. In the Company of Men: Cross-Dressed Women Around 1800. Wayne State University Press, Detroit. ISBN 0-8143-3145-9

Though it includes some real-life examples, this is primarily a theory-heavy study of cross-dressing female characters in a selection of English and German novels and plays. For the Lesbian Historic Motif Project.

Traub, Valerie. 2002. The Renaissance of Lesbianism in Early Modern England. Cambridge University Press, Cambridge. ISBN 0-521-44885-9

A thick, lovely book with gloriously copious footnotes. For the Lesbian Historic Motif Project.

And both were not only at used book prices, but I still had some Moe's credit on a slip stashed away in my purse, so they were functionally free. These will go into the queue, though I probably won't be covering them any time soon. There is a delightful overabundance of books waiting for me to include in this project.
