I'd been planning to release this on the actual anniversary of the publication of Daughter of Mystery, but decided "what the heck" and put it up this morning.

This is my first foray into formatting e-publications, so although I've tried to double-check everything, please let me know if you run into any glitches or errors that may have been invisible on my end.

(From Daughter of Mystery)

…for a brief time, intrigued and flattered by the interest and starved for the human touch that she was denied in the ordinary way, Barbara had let things go further than had been wise. Her cheeks still burned at remembering that glorious imprudence.

This is the story of that glorious imprudence.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

There will be a line in The Mystic Marriage when Jeanne says to Barbara, "I have loved--truly loved--only four women. One of them is dead. One never found the courage to tell me yes or no. You were the third." (The fourth, of course, happens in that book.) After the books 3 & 4 come out, I'll tell the story of the one that died. I don't yet know what the story is for the one who never found the courage.

I am so pleased to look forward to this. It is encouraging to see the Fibonacci-like way the stories are opening out.
