I specifically wanted to explore what my world and its magic look like to someone who isn't rich, powerful, or magical, but who rubs elbows with those who are. *Her* idea of a happy ending is to become a dressmaker's apprentice. Well, that is...after her idea of a happy ending is not starving on the streets after losing her position.
