I love the way you are able to provide clear, well articulated complaints while writing a complimentary, positive review.

I wouldn't call them "complaints" as such. Good reviews should tackle two questions: "How did this work for me?" and "Who is the target audience for this book?" This book isn't *for* me. It isn't it's job to be a book that's for *me*. That doesn't mean that it doesn't do a good job of being the book that it needs to be.
