If they do the "all programming will be available for replay" that the Nebulas did, then one simply needs to worry about live chat timing. Though there are two panels I have bookmarked to watch, having attended the other item in that time-slot live, but haven't gotten to yet. In some ways, having an asynchronous and multi-channel Worldcon could be worse than the problem of "which of these five conflicting items will I choose to attend?"
I've done various thought-experiments about whether it would make more sense to stick to the host's daily schedule or to treat an online convention as completely unstuck from daily schedules. But you still need to staff it with live (awake) people who can monitor and fix things, and trying to run 24 hours a day would greatly increase the needed coverage. I suspect having down time every day still makes sense for the staff to be able to breathe and regroup.
