More signs of Spring

One of the many delightful side benefits of it being warm enough to have weekend brunch on the deck is that it comes with a show: The Squirrel Follies. Since the deck is on the second story, I get a tree's-eye view of some amazing games of tag. (And, occasionally, some slightly more x-rated bits of the show.) The cat is equally enthusiastic about The Squirrel Follies. (Much more so than she is about Late Night with Jay Raccoon or the Possum Letterman Show, which we sometimes watch through the living room door.)

Makes you understand why they call it "spring" :P

I know it's Spring because I'm wearing sandals and bare feet rather than socks and shoes. (I'm still wearing a sweater to work because my boss likes living in a refrigerator, so the air conditioning hovers at around 66 degrees indoors all summer.)

And because considering how warm it was yesterday, I'm going to turn on the air conditioner this afternoon :(

California, IMNSHO, has not enough spring and fall (maximum of 3 weeks each, most years) and entirely too much summer.

Well yeah; the lighting guys on Late Night with Jay Raccoon seem to have some problems, so I understand the preference for Squirrel Follies. (I've never seen Possum Letterman; we don't seem to get that channel here.)

Jay Raccoon has been a regular spring visitor here, with occasional showings of Possum Letterman. I like my home better when Jay does NOT come in the house, which has been the case since I started closing the cat flap religiously at bedtime.

Unfortunately my area does not seem to have Squirrel Follies. Not enough mature trees close by, methinks.
