It's very interesting that there is a site, did you feel it.
I scrolled down through the site for awhile and see the higher number of reportings for higher intensity quakes.
The numbers also show that the closer to a large population, the more people reported it.
Now all that is common sense. What's interesting to me is that in a world where earthquakes are so normal, a part of almost everyday life, yet hold that huge sword over the head threat of The Big One, having a place to say you felt it becomes a game.
It takes all the fear of TBO away. Instead there's the rush to be the first to say you felt it! Very interesting.
Now in a world where some other threat hangs over, say like in Atlanta where they have what...80 days of water left...they're in fear state. or they should be. er hem.
To take the fear of no water away, how about a website talking about say the humidity level at your house, or perhaps how many raindrops you caught in the bucket. or how many clouds you counted.
Interesting way to take all the stress out of a situation by turning it into a game.
