Well, it's a good thing I'd decided to skip Purgatorio (coronation) to get stuff done around the house this weekend because with the painting crew plunging into high gear, the immediate-yeah-right-now to-do list has grown a bit. The painting crew has pressure-washed the whole house at this point and is making serious progress on initial scraping and sanding. Top priority is doing some essential pruning to get plants out of their way (done) and moving various bits of junk away from the house -- and ideally to the garbage (done). The next door neighbor in whose yard we hope to plant ladders has been contacted and is ok with everything. Next is getting my Big Garbage Pick-up scheduled to get the couches out of the back yard and the junk out of the side of the driveway. The plant debris hauler is scheduled for Monday, but I still need to get a tree-cutter in to finish up the aftermath of the Great Tree Disaster (including touching base with the neighbor whose tree I'm about to butcher). The Downstairs Tenant has photoshopped up a photo of the house with paintable layers to try out some color schemes. This morning I did a once-over of my finances and figured out where the money is coming from the pay for all this -- although I'm trying to squeeze some more out of various places, just on general principles. Oh, and it's time to list a few more items on Freecycle: the various composting bins that I never really use any more now that we get green trash hauled away; the car-top racks that don't fit either my current car or the car I plan to buy next; hey -- maybe some of the weathered-but-still-sound lumber I don't feel like storing that could be used for things like garden beds and whatnot. Onward and upward!

Could you hang onto one of those composting bins for me? I was about to buy one to replace my old one that has a hole the size of your fist in the back wall.

I'd be happy to pick it up soon.

I have three composting items I'm getting rid of: two plastic-you-fasten-into-a-cylindar things (ca. 4 ft diameter -- the reason for two was so the contents of one could "work" while you were feeding into the second), and one hard-plastic rectangular box, where the theory is that you feed organics into the top opening and then pull the finished compost out the little sliding door at the bottom (nice theory, might work for kitchen waste sorts of things). There's also a metal pokey-stick thingie with flanges at the bottom for stirring and aerating compost heaps.

I like the cylinder shape, and now that you pointed it out, 2 would be a good number.
What does your Monday evening prior to 8pm look like, assuming that you'd like to get rid of them sooner than later?

Assuming I get out of work at something resembling my usual time, I can pretty much guarantee being home and presentable by 7pm. (There's the gym time in between.) Ordinarily, I'd just make sure it was somewhere you could find it in the driveway, but chances are the painters would have to move it somewhere else.

Okay then, I'll aim for arriving at your house slightly after 7pm.
