The seasons are changing
Sep. 12th, 2007 12:57 pmI think it's time to shift my work lunches from the summer-default (salad and fruit) to some sort of new winter-default (probably soup-oriented). There are times when I start believing in medieval humoral theory ... when the phrase "and is cooling to the stomach" keeps popping into my mind. Suddenly salad no longer seems refreshing and I want something a little warmer.
I took the computer in to Apple yesterday and after the briefest of explanations, the help guy confirmed
gunnora's diagnosis of power supply failure and noted that some serial numbers of the part had Known Issues. I almost got it replaced right then and there but they were out of the specific model I needed, so it'll be a few days.
Random updates. I'm now 0-for-3 for the week on biking to work -- this morning it was a very soft tire. Since it's a self-healing green-goo tube, I thought about nursing it over to the filling station and seeing if it would hold air when refilled, but since I have the research open house tonight, I didn't want to risk getting stuck walking the bike home from work if that didn't work. I've succeeded in finding a taker for the bookcases-to-go with almost no effort. Still no Welsh furniture book. The painter didn't pack up my ladder along with his after all -- he even put it back up on the deck where it started out. Painting still not entirely done -- we're waiting on a new door for the laundry room (which he's replacing for me), but more of the touch-up got done yesterday.
