Road Trip: Day 5 (covering 9/26/07)
Sep. 28th, 2007 12:27 amDateline: Seattle Washington; ; Current odometer: ca. 200,181; Miles travelled today: ca. 15 (forgot to write it down last time I looked); Current location of writing: Bill & Eden's house
It's amusing to note that Bill & Eden are the only people I'm visiting who aren't on Live Journal. I don't think this is due to any narrowing of my social circles. (Although it may, in part, have to due with picking up a couple of visit requests via LJ.)
Wednesday I did the serious out-of-town-tourist thing. To start, I went and parked in the vicinity of the Space Needle, but since the cloud cover was quite low (low enough you couldn't even see the top of the Needle) I started out by walking down to the waterfront and then south to see the aquarium

and browse through Pike Place Market, where I lunched on fresh crab, fresh bread, and local cheese. By the time I'd walked back to the Space Needle, the sky was pretty much clear

and except for a faint haze of smog, the views from the top were spectacular.

After that, I headed off to the University district to meet up with
egoldberg. I once more missed my intended turns while trying to navigate to I-5, and once more successfully wandered around Seattle back streets until I'd gotten where I planned to go. I think I like this city. We went out for quite adequate Thai food, then took a brief tour of the campus

and took in a showing of the documentary In-Laws and Out-Laws sponsored by the campus glbtqetc. group. After saying goodbye to Eli I once again got lost and re-found before ending up at B&E's for the night (and once again found myself standing outside a house on my cell phone saying, "I think I'm standing in front of your house but I can't see a number....")
