I did it -- I've freed myself from the tyranny of cable tv. (And the Comcast operator only did three layers of trying to change my mind before capitulating.) At one point I was thinking of waiting until I'd tried a "dry run" to double-check what my regular broadcast reception was, but writing out the month's payment last night just kicked me over the edge. I will, of course, regret the decision when the next Olympics roll around again, but I'll live.

We did it the beginning of March. I don't miss it but Crimson is already having withdrawls and bought a good antenna this weekend so he can watch a few channels.

I was hoping the tv would be on less, but it hasn't seemed to work that way yet!

It isn't so much about having the set on less -- I tend to use it as background noise and "company", given that I live alone. But I get perfectly good antenna-reception (for my purposes) on the broadcast stations, and a lot of my watching is DVDs anyway. It's much more about begrudging that $65 per month considering how little investment I have in needing to watch specific non-broadcast programs.
