aastg tagged me for the 5 guilty pleasures meme, so I will succumb behind the cut.

The rules are: The first player of this "game" starts with the top "5 Guilty Pleasures" and people who get tagged need to write an LJ entry about their 5 Guilty Pleasures as well as state this rule. In the end, you need to choose the next 5 people to be tagged and list their names.

I should preface this by saying that I have a hard time with the concept of "guilty pleasures". I'm a firm believer that if one feels guilty about doing something, one should choose not to do it. And if one believes that something is either necessary or desireable to do, one shouldn't feel guilty about it. That said, the following are activities that I enjoy that I wouldn't normally brag about.

1. I have watched just about every episode of the tv show "Friends".

2. Sometimes I like to eat (drink?) sweetened condensed milk straight out of the can.

3. The most-played album on my iPod is by ABBA.

4. I enjoy crafting mailing-list or newsgroup posts that exquisitely, deftly, eloquently open new bodily orifices in individuals who badly need more ventilation ... all without ever using language that Miss Manners would disapprove of.

5. I like wearing fur. (Ok, I was having a hard time coming up with a #5 and was tempted to list "I like porn", but my mother reads my journal fergoodnesssakes! Oops.)

I haven't really been keeping track of who's done this meme already and who hasn't -- it seems like 80% of today's new reading was memes of one sort or another. But I think the following haven't been picked on yet: xrian, ritaxis, layla_lilah, gunnora, and -- oh heck why not -- egoldberg.

(Speaking of which, have you ever seen Muriel's Wedding? Very good Australian movie, featuring the music of ABBA prominently. Surprisingly pithy/deep.)

sweetened condensed milk

I use to love it, too, when I was young. Your grandmother had a recipe for lemon meringue pie that used condensed milk that was thickened by lemon juice. Mom (See, I do read it.)

Well, I'm the last person be superior about music: I still love the Monkees and I married a man who who owns Bread albums (shudder).
