You'd think it was Friday
Sep. 18th, 2008 10:42 pmPrinted the handouts for Saturday's class. Threw together the accompanying slide show. (This is primarily text-based material, so there are only a few images to project.) And it's only Thursday evening! I also picked about a third of the quinces from the little flowering quince bush and -- rather than simply allowing them to perfume the kitchen for a while -- quartered, cored, and peeled them to process into quince paste. (I saved the peels and cooked them down to slush tonight to get the pectin out. I'll strain that and use it as the liquid for cooking the rest of the fruit.)
Tomorrow I "get" to undergo an all-day training session at our Richmond site, up by Hilltop Mall. Topic? "How to improve your technical writing." (It's a mandatory training for anyone involved in the conformance investigation process.) I confess that I'm egotistical enough to expect not to learn anything much new and useful. If I'm lucky the class will be taught competently enough that I'm not tempted to misbehave. If I'm really lucky, I can get a bunch of other writing done while pretending to listen to the training. And then I have the joy of driving in rush-hour traffic on a Friday evening to get home. I'm thinking very seriously of simply hitting the mall for dinner and some window shopping until the traffic dies down. I think they even have a movie theater. And, after all, I've finished all my pre-weekend responsibilities.
