Heralds and Football
Nov. 19th, 2005 07:05 pmIt is the day of the West Kingdom Heralds Collegium. It is the day of the Big Game. (Which "big game". Bah! There is only one.) Brother #3 came up from Ben Lomond for the first and given that he's staying over for tomorrow's heralds meeting, we have Cal vs. Stanford on the TV. (Not merely a Cal alumnus but a former marching band member.) I make no predictions lest I jinx anything, but we shall have a brief moment of "Go Bears!!!" here in this journal.
Mind you, football in and of itself is pretty meaningless to me, but it is part of The Ways of My People. My standard (true) joke is that the last time I attended a football game in person was Cal vs. UCLA when both younger brothers were playing ... brother #2 played trumpet for UCLA and brother #3 played Euphonium for Cal. I went home after the halftime show.
