The door is in stock. The contractor is eager. This should be finished before I take off for my Thanksgiving trip. Now to get back to the flooring people and line them up to come in and actually lay the floor. And get a chimney sweep in to ream out the stove-pipe, as long as I have the stove detached. Is it hubris to think, "Gee, maybe I could slap some new paint on the walls before they get the floor in?" There would never be a better time, but the schedule's already pretty crowded. (On the other hand, you can save a lot of time when you're allowed to be sloppy.) My gut instinct tells me that repainting is "the project that does not need to be done right now". Because I still have to clean and re-black the stove before it goes back in. To say nothing of lining up a few gorillas to help me move things when the time comes. Ok, back to nail-biting.
