All about ... who?
Jan. 11th, 2007 10:11 pmSo I've been joking about how 2007 is going to be "all about me", wherein I work on being a bit more selfish with me time. Not doing too well on that. ( Read more... )
Wednesday I took a vacation day for Mac-geek high holy days, i.e., the Macworld expo. It was larger than last year, although I think partly it was just spread out a bit more. My shopping was restricted to picking up the new micro-shuffle, plus a set of noise-blocking ear-buds that will mean I don't have to crank up the volume as much to hear over the background noise. Also picked up the necessary paperwork to get the show discount on a multi-sheet-feeder scanner, which will help immensely in turning all my filing cabinets of articles into pdfs. Alas, the cheap printer ink guy wasn't there -- I should see if I can track him down on-line, but it's been so convenient to just pick up a year's supply of printer ink each January when I'm there at the expo.
Today was the "year-end celebratory outing" for the production division at work, so we all got taken out to Golden Gate Fields for a buffet lunch and watching the horse races. (This is an improvement over simply being taken out to lunch at some restaurant since we get a show.) The event included a $5 voucher for betting on the ponies, and since the third race included a horse named "Quagmire", naturally I had to put it all on him to win. (Family in-joke.) He repaid me by coming in dead last. Good thing it wasn't my money.
