Random Observations
Jan. 14th, 2007 04:06 pm6am is way too early for an alarm to go off on a Saturday for any reason other than taking a family member to the airport. If there is going to be a major multi-emergency-vehicle event on the freeway between you and the airport, it is always a good idea for it to be in the opposite direction (especially if you have an alternate route home). Being interviewed about your career by a high school student can be fun -- not just a Good Deed. (Nobody ever wants to interview me about being a discrepancy investigator, but so far this is my second one about being a freelance writer.) What's especially fun is if you're having the interview in the local Barnes & Noble, and when they ask you what sorts of things you've had published, you're able to walk over to the nearest shelf and pull out an example. One good thing about having lots of items on the To Do list is that you can procrastinate endlessly and still be productive. People who give you presents of home-made mead bottled in Martinelli's bottles really should slap some sort of identifying label over the commerical one. It should at a minimum identify the contents as not being Martinelli's and should include a bottling date.
