The Tax Man Cometh

I have an appointment next Thursday to take my numbers to my tax guy and see what he does with them. In the mean time, I've been reading through Nolo Press's book on tax deductions for landlords with a highlighter in hand. I can see that I need to revise my summary tables to separate house expenses into three categories: just me, just tenants, and whole-house. It's more complex than it was when the partnership owned the house, but Excel Rules.

Got some interesting news at work. The Big B decided last year that they've been hemorrhaging [*] talent to the competitors too much and needed to do some serious review of what sorts of changes might improve retention. They've been announcing various changes piecemeal and today's announcement involved enhanced vacation accrual for people in the 1-5 year category. That's me. Coolness.
