2500 words so far on "Skin and Bones". (Sorry [livejournal.com profile] scotica, that's the one that stuck.) I've got a detailed outline down, which helped me figure out what I did and didn't want to include in the resolution. (This one leaves some very nice loose ends for a further continuation.) In getting started I was worried about being easily distracted so I went back to pen and paper and removing myself to a coffee shop. (Even the laptop can be distracting -- maybe I need some sort of little dedicated word processing machine that specifically doesn't do internet stuff.) But now I think I have enough momentum going not to worry about it. I'm starting to really like this story -- I hope they buy it. (Sorry for being utterly non-forthcoming about the actual plot, but I'm one of those writers who doesn't like telling stories in advance of writing them. 50% of it is "If I've already told it, I don't need to write it", but the other 50% is an irrational prejudice that telling plots in advance of writing them is boastful. I don't mean that to be a commentary on anyone else's habits, it's just how my mind works.)
