Mar. 26th, 2007 12:32 pmIt seems that the airline I'm taking to Kalamazoo decided to cancel the flight I'd booked on Sunday, and Travelocity, in its infinite wisdom, concluded that of course I'd want to leave the conference earlier rather than later. But all ended well because after getting through to a live Travelocity rep they changed me to the later flight with no additional charges (which was why I wanted to do it through a live human being who I could argue with, if necessary, rather than putting in a reservation change on-line.) Then, because I was thinking of travel and whatnot, I made my ski-weekend reservation (which conveniently includes my Spring Just-a-Coincidence-that-it's-Good Friday holiday).
Why is it that household organization projects that involve paper always get larger as you work on them rather than smaller? All I wanted to do was tackle the box of stuff sitting on top of the smallest filing cabinet -- an assortment of old bills and receipts to be filed and misc. paperwork and ... hmm, enormous quantities of faded computer printouts of booklists and research leads. So in addition to the throwing out and filing and sorting, I'll have to deal with going through all the printouts and determining whether there's any irreplaceable (and important) information on them. Oh, and while filing the old bills/receipts, I got terminally frustrated with the folder labeled "medical stuff", which is so full it sticks up and interferes with drawer movement. So I pulled it out and sorted through it and did the usual throw out, organize, archive thing.
And when I got to the point where I couldn't stand to pick up another indoor house project, I hauled out the lawn equipment and wrestled the front yard into submission for the first time this year.
This week's project: Get the new S&S story written, since the submissions period opened this past Friday.
