So much work ...

... to give stuff away. I've become very fond of the Freecycle concept for getting rid of stuff that's too good for the trash can but not good enough to be worth trying to sell. But sometimes the logistics get rather annoying. Sunday I listed a batch of assorted stuff and pretty much had it all spoken for within an hour after putting the notice out on the Freecycle mailing list. So why is it that Wednesday will arrive with only one of the eight spoken-for items actually having been taken off my hands? And in the mean time I'm sending nice polite apologies to all sorts of folks who didn't happen to be the first in line, while the first-in-lines are failing to get their act together as far as removing a box or bag from my porch at their own convenience. Grrr.

That said, I have a few items that I'd like to get rid of that I'd prefer to offer around the local SCA crowd first. ( Read more... )
