March Crown To-Do
Mar. 21st, 2008 11:11 amI like having a Friday holiday from work the day before my first camping event of the season. Mmmmm. Last night when I didn't manage to sit down to dinner until 10pm, I figured that I wasn't going to get both new gear bags sewn before going to sleep, but I did get the bag for the bed frame done (by 1am) and all the new kitchen arrangements have been organized, and all the food was sorted out and packed. This morning I slept in, did some random errands (which could have waited for Monday, but I wanted to get them out of the way), picked up a fresh can of propane, and enjoyed a lazy breakfast at my favorite bakery. Now I need to:
* Pick up a gallon of drinking water (Central Valley tap water ... no way!) and fill the gas tank.
* Sew the carry-bag for the PPF bench.
* Pack clothes, projects, and any other random event accessories.
* Pack the car (this is, of course, shorthand for "figure out how a radically different set of physical objects than the last packing job will fit into the existing space").
* Go.
I was originally thinking of trying to get to the site by 3pm, but perhaps I'll set my sites on leaving home by 3pm. Not that it would take me that long if I were really working at it, but ... why rush? I'll be set up in the middle of the afternoon, on a dry and sunny day, with plenty of time before cooking a leisurely medieval dinner, and then free time to help other people set up or some such thing. I think if I had Fridays off all the time, I'd probably go to more camping events.
Oh, and Happy Birthday
