The obligatory loot post

hrjThis was a "clothing Christmas" for my family: lots of silk thermal underwear, shirts, sweaters, and such like. Also custom-printed canvas tote bags from Cafe Press that the youngest brother had done up with scenic photos from his various camping vacations. DVD of Mamma Mia! and unabridged audio-book of Tacitus's The Histories. Can of imported gourmet coffee beans from the middle brother's business trip to Italy. Jar of home-made pickles. The parents wussed out on trying to second-guess what I might want and supplied an envelope with green stuff, so they will have given me the iPhone I'm about to buy.
No skiing today. By the time we'd recovered from turkey dinner and gotten well into an episode of Catan, it was 2pm, which didn't leave enough trail time before dusk to be worth it. But tomorrow I have pie to work off and it's supposed to be sunny. Also: new geek experience. Use of cell phone while skiing to coordinate quitting time.
