Call me crazy, but I'm sitting here listening to the radio, singing along with Pete Seeger and bawling my eyes out.

Huh? Did Pete die?? I can't find any mention in the online news!

If so, I'm crying as well - I grew up on his music, along with many other folks singers and groups.

Sorry for giving you a scare there. It was more of a postscript to my previous concert post, but I forget about people reading posts backwards and should have contextualized it better.

Pass me a tissue. For the first time in eight, almost nine years, I'm optimistic about our country's future.

Yeah. I confess I've been resisting jumping wholeheartedly on the emotional bandwagon. And I still recognize that things like this concert program are engineered for message to within an inch of their lives. But given what is being engineered, I either have make the jump or retreat into terminally cynical tinfoil-hat land.

I gotta confess, my vision got a little twinkly there too. For the first time in eight years I almost felt like this really was my land.

Bruce and Pete... those guys can really bring it.

teensy bit jealous - We went to a fab party this afternoon, had a fun time, drank tasty libations, played with good food talked long with great people etc, but still sad that I missed this broadcast. I will have to poke around tomorrow & see if NPR archived it for me...

Glad you got to enjoy it & I hope you're feeling better.

OK finally got to watch - and was a total waterworks, but especially for Pete - he led the song joyfully, as always, but it seems that he himself can't sing anymore :-< and a world without Pete Seeger singing in it is wrong!
