Of course, none of those are unique to geeks. They are capable of turning up anywhere there is social interaction, though I'm prepared to believe they may be more common where there is a strongly-established group identity. (Fraternities. Sports teams. Military units. Police forces. Ethnic and other minorities. Etc., etc.) And I think #1 most often shows up in the slightly weaker form that ostracism within the group is evil - ostracism of outsiders may well be a core value (making for interesting interaction with #4.)

True enough. In fact, the topic came up in the context of "odd quirks that the SCA and Quakers have in common.
