I love checklists

There's nothing to take the stress out of starting the tourney season like the knowledge that your SCA camping checklists will preserve you from egregious logistical failures. Ok, so maybe I overdo it. But I wont be the one who shows up with the cookpots but no stove, or with doublet and hose but no points. And then next weekend I can try out my mundane-car-camping checklists (which are still in development) since that Friday is a work holiday and I figure I should take the opportunity to do something frivolous. (Haven't quite figured out where I'm going to take my frivolous car-camping trip. That's part of the beauty of it.)

Hmm, must research packing list apps for the iPhone. Must be easily customizable.

I need a checklist. My current method of packing is 'throw stuff in the car until it's full'. Luckily I have a big car.

I've been using a checklist since I was in undergrad. Then, it was "remind me what to bring". Now it's "make sure I don't forget..."

Most of the time I don't forget things. It'd be much dicier if I didn't check off a list.

We use a checklist that I created in Excel, that way we can adjust for which event we are going to.

My sweetie keeps old packing lists so he can compare the new ones to the old ones to make sure nothing is missed.

Confirmed checklist user here as well. I write a new one for each event based off the old ones, (which I keep). This allows me to both run through in my mind where everything is before I need it, and to tweak the list if anything new or 'one-time' is added. Also, since the food packing and menu is part of the list, it gives me a record of tourney foods in the event I can't think of what to make.

I love you - in an happier-when-organized, Pelican to Pelican way :-) My friends tease me for the "over packing gene" ... but who's the first person they come to when they need something, knowing that *I* will probably be the person who thought to pack it and bring it along?
