Having spent entirely too much time at one point trying to track down a particular movie review I'd posted on LJ, I decided to go through and subcategorize all my "review" tags. In the process, it occurred to me that I really do need to copy the more detailed movie and book reviews to my web site for more permanent reference and easy indexing. At one point, scotica and I were planning to do a systematic and organized web site of medieval movie reviews, but somehow it's never happened. Re-reading some of my reviews, I blush to note how impressed I am with my own writing sometimes.

I recommend LJ Archive. It will get you a local backup which may then be exported as XML and manipulated. It also has some nice search features.
