5 Things Make a Post

1. Had a lovely extended family get-together today. No special reason -- a bunch of us have simply decided that we should make deliberate efforts to get together regularly without needing any particular reason. Sat around and chatted for quite a while, then get in a couple games (Monty Python Fluxx, and then after the first wave of departures, Settler of Catan).

2. The second good thing about crudites is that the leftovers can be turned into soup.

3. I believe that during the last week, I have succeeded in spending at least 8 hours every night in bed with my eyes closed. The sleep is still not top quality (largely due to getting woken up 3-4 times a night with hot flashes) but at least I'm getting better at the quantity part.

4. In addition to being about 80% done with a fairly long philosophical essay on women cross-dressing in the SCA (and in the SCA's time-period), I've been contemplating going out on a limb and posting a philosophical essay exploring some of my views about abortion. The second will probably be f-locked, just for traffic control purposes. Not sure why I'm in a waxing-philosophical mood.

5. Uh ... five, right ... five ... I did say there would be five didn't I? Ooooh! Look! Squirrel!

I've been getting a lot more sleep, which has led to a lot more dreams. I hadn't realized how little I'd been dreaming until they started coming back.
