Basking in the heat

Living as I do within spitting distance of the bay, I have the luxury of enjoying the current heat wave, since it just means that it's hot enough to want to go lie on the grass in the park all afternoon instead of going back to work. On the other hand, crown tourney this weekend is going to be a scorcher. I figure that I'll do the remaining clearing out of the living room on Sunday after I get back from the event.

Furniture offer (only practical for those in the SF bay area): I happen to have this drafting table. Once upon a time it came to me when I was hosting the monthly heraldic submissions meetings (for the use of the heraldic artist) but when the position moved on, the new host didn't want the table. Amusingly enough, I've been using it as a sewing table (if you adjust the board to horizontal, it works fairly well, although you don't want to try to pick it up that way) but it doesn't fit into the new game plan. This isn't anything fancy: metal frame and a plasticky face to the board. It can come with a clamp-on lamp if you like. Free to anyone interested in picking it up, but SCA scribes are especially encouraged. E-mail me (but I probably won't get back to you until after the weekend).

Lots of thanks to all the supportive friends that understand ARRGHHHH days. I got home from the hospital today - HOME IS GOOD - and am trying to confine my activities to one level of the house. I have acquired several occupational therapy gadgets that make life interesting. The hardest thing is NOT picking things off the floor after you drop them. Love to all.
