Book Reviews: Daughter of Mystery

I don’t quite remember when I first started reading Liz Bourke’s various columns: Sleeps with Monsters at Tor.com, for which she is currently short-listed for a BSFA (British Science Fiction Association) award, her own review blog Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, and her LJ. But I do remember exactly when it was that I decided it would mean an immense amount to me if she liked Daughter of Mystery. It was when I read her column on lesbian SFF romance. And I thought to myself, someone with this level of critical and analytic skills who writes an entire blog post on the topic of lesbian SFF romance is standing smack dab in the middle of my ideal target audience. If I can hook her, then I’ve succeeded in what I set out to do.**
Well, I think I succeeded.
**(I even made a comment to that effect somewhere on her LJ but I can’t find it again.)

Congrats!
