Oh my aching back

hrjI seem to have tweaked my back sometime in the last couple of days -- probably nothing more than sleeping on it wrong. It was feeling a little stiff yesterday and then today was a little spasmy. It made painting the bathroom a bit more work than it might have been otherwise. We got the walls all TSP-ed and everything masked and then the first coat on. But then it was 7pm and I gave up on the notion that we'd get both coats done today. Cafe review: Venus (on Shattuck in downtown Berkeley) -- This is the first place I'm reviewing that I will categorically state I will never go back to. The food was quite reasonable -- I had the special omelet, which came with home fries and a salad, plus the usual OJ and mocha. It was one of those very echo-y industrial spaces and if I'd been trying to hold a conversation the noise level would have been rather annoying. I'd figured from the descriptions that this wasn't a laid-back bring-the-laptop sort of place, (so I didn't), but I wasn't quite expecting that no sooner than I'd signed the credit slip and had sat back to finish off the last quarter or so of my mocha, the waitress came over and said, "We're going to need your table." Well, you could have knocked me over with a feather. Everything had been quite friendly and cheerful up to that point. So I don't know whether they treat everybody that rudely or whether I'm just special. I really can't be bothered to find out by giving them a second chance.
